Our next career development seminar will feature Kara Nelson, Conservation Planner at The Nature Conservancy. The seminar will be on a date TBD at 1pm in the Fishery Sciences Building, room 203 (map).

Kara has been conservation planner with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) since 2005. Her background includes intertidal biodiversity and plankton ecology research, biology education, and science-based planning and adaptive management facilitation. Kara earned her M.S. in Marine Ecology from Western Washington University and before that, her B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology from the University of Washington. She currently leads community-based conservation planning to set priorities and develop strategies locally and regionally. Kara will discuss her career path and experience with TNC, followed by a Q&A session.
