WAS Student Logo Competition

The World Aquaculture Society is running a contest until December 15th, 2013 to design the World Aquaculture 2015 conference logo. Winner will get a free student membership the World Aquaculture Society, free conference gift bag, all WA 2015 conference fees paid for, and have their design used on all conference materials. There will also be two runners up who get free student membership. Its open to all students both graduate and undergrad.

The Steering Committee for World Aquaculture 2015 is looking for students to enter a competition in designing the logo that will be used for the World Aquaculture Society’s annual meeting in 2015. The conference logo for this event should take into account the theme: “Aquaculture for healthy people, planet and profit” and its unique location. Jeju is The Republic of Korea’s largest island at approximately 1,800 km2, was created millions of years ago from volcanic eruptions, and has a population of 600,000 people. In addition to numerous aquaculture products, it is also home to the world’s largest production of cultured olive flounder.

Logo Submission Specifics:

The deadline for submission(s) will be December 15th, 2013.

Designs must be submitted in either JPEG or TIFF format and preferably in color. Submissions can be hand sketched and after evaluation will be submitted to third party graphic designers for construction and finishing.

In addition to the logo submission, each student must provide proof of their student status(Student ID or verification by an advisor).

After the deadline, eligible entries will be evaluated by a panel of WA 2015 Steering Committee members. The winner will be required to sign a release form giving permission for WAS to use the logo in all conference materials and promotions.
