Job Title: Salmon Recovery Assistant
Location: downtown Seattle
Duration: 19 hours/week for the academic year
Duties & Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for working with the project manager to execute a variety of salmon recovery activities:
– Assist with administration and facilitation of a state-wide association of salmon recovery professionals– Assist with coordination of a biennial conference focused on Salmon Recovery in Washington and Oregon for habitat restoration professionals, hatchery and harvest managers, state and federal agency and tribal staff– Threatened species recovery research and review– Assist with an in-stream restoration project scheduled for construction in summer of 2015– Draft and/or edit meeting summaries, work plans, manuals, agendas, and outreach materials– Coordinate meetings and logistics
Some knowledge of Puget Sound, salmon, threatened & endangered species or other recovery planning efforts.Some knowledge of or interest in habitat restoration theory or practice.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Excellent organizational skills.Proficient with MS Office Suite.Interest in marine issues, fisheries, public process, habitat restoration, land use/protection or other relevant issues.Flexible and able to multitask.Sense of humor.
